for its pristine backwaters, may offer solace to star Brazilian
footballer Neymar, currently laid low by a fractured vertebra.

Kerala
government, according to a report published in The Indian Express, is
contemplating to offer state’s ancient Ayurvedic treatment to the
footballer.
Denying rumours in a section of media which claimed that Brazilian Football Federation has sought Kerala’s assistance, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said that the idea to give Ayurvedic treatment to Neymar was mooted by Kerala Football Association (KFA).
“When they (KFA) approached us with the idea, I have asked the health department to examine the issue. Heath Minister V S Shivakumar has convened a meeting of higher officials (sic),’’ said Chandy.
Further, the Chief Minister said the state health department has prepared a preliminary report on the nature of Neymar’s injury, but a formal offer would be made to Brazil after consultation with the Health Minister.
“I would have another meeting with the minister tomorrow (Wednesday). If it is possible to give Ayurvedic treatment to Neymar, we would make an offer to the Brazilian Football Federation in that regard,” Chandy said.
